Q:so I really wanna get better at portrait shots. tips on lighting and lens type? I'm still new to this whole thing and I really like how your pictures are so bright with the main focus is on the person with the bokeh effect in the background (:
you want to take better portrait shots? first i suggest you take self portraits, not the ones where you can take on a mirror, i mean put your camera on a tripod run back and forth to make sure its focused on you then take the shot again and again. Reason to do that, because you’ll notice in your photos ( aw this pose sucks, posture is ok, facial expression should be different) if you know how to pose yourself and know what you’re going for then you’ll do some good justice on your portraits on other people. Just keep in mind the rule of thirds and the outfit your “model” is wearing, because colors compliment each other. Lens? id get a 50mm 1.8 for starters to get the bokeh effect you want, and its sharp and great for beginners.
use my stuff as a reference, let it be your platform and guide for how you should take pictures
